But seriously,
There's snow on theChugach!! mountains just east of theCity!! and the night air is much colder,
low 30's and as I walk home from work late at night, 2300hrs, 0100hrs or maybe 0200hrs I still here an occasional Cough and voices out in the wooded areas that I walk past.
Remember dear readers, that some people up here in Anchorage are homeless, for what ever reason, they are that way and will live out there in the cold.
When I saw them last winter after I moved to theCity!! ,I believed all the horror stories about Anchorage's homeless. Some sleep on isolated park benches all bundled up, huddled together in the cold, men, women, children.
I've seen them.
Let's pray for them, let's also do something for them and other such people that we see around us.
I am an American.
And I am a Native.
I at times am a bit selfish and ungrateful, but only at times.
For I am not far removed from poverty or want, from need and hardship.
But no matter what I may endure, at least I'm not homeless and totally down and out.
I am not one of those unhappy American's that gripe about everything.
Because I have running water and electricity 24hrs a day, 7 days a week here in my cheap 10x10 apt.
I am not unhappy, because I have 2 jobs, and I have great bosses that also feed me at work anything I want off their splendid restaurant menu's.
I am not unhappy, because I have basic cell phone and Internet, I have basic cable tv that comes with theRented apt,
And I have friends, I have family too.
I am not unhappy.
I have my Artistic and musical talents that I practice and share with others.
God doesn't need to babysit me because I move, think, act freely each day and can be trusted.
I can be depended upon.
I am liked, I am disliked. At least my detractors first look at themselves to see what they loath about themselves before they call me names,
before they tell me to "go fuck off", "go fuck yourself", etc.
I am empathetic and hope to always be this way.
Because seeing others Pain and Needs is a gift from God, You have it from an early age and quite frankly, you either have it or you don't although it can be acquired by anyone whom works at it enough to feel it.
Right now one Restaurant job is cutting back on my work hours to "save money" and I'm the only one on their extensive list who's being scaled back. I'm the only minority worker there as well.
And the other Restaurant is cutting back on my scheduled hours as well. And that's going to suck.
But you know what?!
My music is coming along great, soon I will see what reception I get at an local "Open Mic" event. We'll see if theSam!! is musician material or not with his Piano and Guitar.
And although I've just started on theViolin I've got 10yrs to go,
that's 10yrs at about roughly 2.5 to 3hrs a day of practice to master theInstrument.
Or at least 10yrs to even halfway call myself an expert, which I don't, and not even for what instruments and activities that I do Know now. I am still a student.
But that's it.
Break it down and you get 10yrs at about 10,000hrs if you dedicate your time to seriously learning something.
Look at yourself today and be glad that you know what you know regarding any skill, talent or activity.
You can learn more. And I will too.
Hopefully in 10yrs I can totally learn what it's like to NOT be ungrateful.

My hairs getting longer and I chuckle sometimes when other people mistakenly call me "ma'am" as I keep my hair neatly pulled back off my face. I wear hair clips ya' know.
I'm still slim but BIG!! and life is good.
